Date: July 15-17, 2010
Introduction to GBMF
The third International Conference of Global Business and Management Forum (GBMF) will be held at Kazakhstan Institute of Management, Economics & Strategic Research (KIMEP) in Almaty, Kazakhstan on July 15-17, 2010. The first and the second conferences of GBMF were held in India and Bangladesh in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Participants including two IIM directors, IOC Chairman, Bangladesh Bank Governor, Bangladesh Minister of Commerce received the previous conferences extremely well.
Conference Theme
Business Competencies and Public Management in a Changing Global Environment
The global collective effort has prevented the worst thing from occurring during the recent financial crisis, now there is concern for the post-crisis days. The challenge now is to sustain the economies around the world in the backdrop of reduced consumption and higher savings rate. The new reality is -- emerging economies will take a greater share of the global market in the post-crisis era; the developed world may not recover quickly, and their growth may remain low or non-existent for some years to come. However, the potential for productivity enhancement and catch-up remains in place provided the right decisions are made in both the private and the public sectors. This guarded optimism will fade in thin air unless there is collective effort to create a favorable environment for structural changes in global trade rules, domestic public policy and business strategies, and business practices.
The third Global Business & Management Forum (GBMF) International conference in scenic Kazakhstan is about creating that environment in domestic as well as in the global marketplace. The challenge now is to rejuvenate our economies by focusing on economic and public affairs planning, productivity improvement, innovative marketing, and financial management in the manufacturing and service sectors and in the public sector. Significant keynote speakers are being invited. Abstracts and/or research papers are being solicited on all business and public affairs related topics that directly or indirectly address these global concerns. Papers presented at the conference will be considered for publication in the Global Business and Management Journal (GBMJ) after meeting the requirements of a double blind review process.
General Guidelines for the Authors

The abstract should include the following headings: (1) Research Questions/issues (2) Research Findings/Insights - (3) Theoretical/Academic Implications, and (4) Practitioner/Policy Implications.
